If one as a Mobed ,a priest or a person who gives religious teachings uses words like "you must" "you have to" etc... this means that nothing has been accomplished and only people are being guided towards what some want, not what they themselves would like to have. Mobed Surushpur was representing the Mobedan Anjuman of Tehran in a meeting (Religion and Peace) on the 24th of Ardibehesht month 1388(14th May 2009)which was organized in Mufid University of Qom. During his speech parts of the Gathas in which it has been emphasized that "the people are free to choose the best path through their own knowledge" were recited and discussed in detail. In this regard it was emphasized that all men and women are free to choose the best religion for themselves. A verse from the yasna with its meaning which says" Happiness is for those who want happiness for others" was also related and deeply discussed. Mobed Surushpur talked about the points related above in detail and said that these are the two secrets for a long term peace in todays chaotic world. He also emphasized that the reality of all religions were the same but ofcourse the role of culture cannot be taken to be without effect, in his opinion different religions in the heart of one culture were more closer to each other than one religion in different cultures and that the biggest passion of all religions is to build a world full of happiness and peace.
Mobed Surushpur in his speech also pointed to the fact that Chaos,anger and mass killing has taken its place in this world and that anger cannot be fought with anger(Anger is a deadly enemy .It burns all our good deeds).For this reason Ahuramazda sent Spitaman Zarathushtra and gave him the power of Asha or righteousness so that with these qualities he could bring peace and righteousness to this world. In this meeting members from different religious communities (Muslims,Christians,Jews) also participated and related their views. Mobed Surushpur being the last to speak was the one who truly explained about the law of Asha,the Ameshaspands,the philosophy of religion.It was mentiond by him that never has it been emphasized in the Gahtas that one should become a Zoroastrian but that one should be the one working as the law of Asha(righteousness).
